Our favorite online PE teacher Joe Wicks has produced a cookbook with all things surrounding weaning, Wean In 15. He teamed up with a nutritionist Charlotte Sterling-Reed to provide weaning advice along with tasty meals for everyone to enjoy!
Joe loves everything about food and is passionate about getting everyone to eat healthy home cooked meals. He also knows the weaning process can be a daunting one but this book is there to give you a step-by-step guide to help you wean with confidence. With 100 recipes, he is here to make food yummy for the little ones, but also feed the parents as well!
The book is split into part 1 and 2. Part 1 is all about basics of weaning and information to help educate yourself. He talks about whether your baby is ready for weaning, setting out a routine that works, allergies and more. Part 2 is the exciting part with all the recipes which you can make for the whole family.
The book is filled with adorable photos of his daughter Indie throughout her weaning journey and delicious photos of the food as well. This is not your typical recipe book in the sense that Joe does a great job in making the book relatable. He draws on his own experience of weaning Indie and the sometimes horror of finding out your little one has an allergy. Joe shared this terrifying experience on Wean In 15’s Instagram page at the time but goes into detail in the book.

The recipes age range from six months all way to 12 months plus. They include whether they are suitable for freezing, vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. It also includes how many portions it makes for both adult and child. Some of the recipes include fish tacos, sweet potato frittata squares, sweetcorn and ricotta fritters, cheesy pea quinoa risotto, very green curry and so much more!
Wean In 15’s Instagram page is great for some inspiration for meal times and if that is not enough you can check out the Wean In 15’s podcast. It is an 8 episode podcast with Joe and Charlotte all about weaning and each episode is centered around a certain part of weaning.
