Varadkar May Extend Maternity Leave


There may be so good new for expectant mothers as Leo Varadkar may extend maternity leave.

A petition was handed over at the gates at the Dáil last week by new mothers. The petition received over 25,000 signatures and is still increasing. The petition is asking for an extra 3 months added to maternity leave temporarily, to those who’s leave has been affected by Covid-19.

The Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar said that he will consider the proposal to extend maternity leave. It may go from 6 to 9 months.
