Tips for Coping in this Pandemic

It is a crazy time at the moment and with all of this panic that’s going around we thought we would share some tips for coping in the pandemic.

  • Keep a diary – start writing your feelings down. You would be surprised how writing can help calm the mind and take a weight off your shoulders.
  • Meditation/yoga – take some time for yourself and give your mind a break from all the craziness.
  • Exercise –  use YouTube tutorials to keep yourself active as it’s so important for your overall health. It can help with sleeping and energy levels.
  • Unplug – stay informed but don’t be consumed by social media and the news. It can have a negative impact on your mental health and it will only increase your anxiety.
  • Keep busy – keeping to a schedule can help with the long days and can give you structure. If you feel like the loss of control really affects you, your day is something you CAN control. Focus on yourself, and how you can keep your mind off of the panic.
  • Get a hobby – now would be a great time to start knitting or drawing. Pick something you will enjoy and will keep you occupied.
  • Stay connected – you don’t have to have someone next to you to be social. Your phone is a magical contraption that will allow you to stay connected with everyone. Organise a video call with your friends. It’s a great way to help you feel that you are NOT alone.

As Dr. Mike from YouTube says, stay alert not anxious.
