The Renew Skin Clinic use the latest technology and techniques to deliver advanced skin and body treatments.

Here is the clinic’s most requested post-pregnancy treatments.

Body Ballancer

The body ballancer is a versatile, relaxing and invigorating compression therapy system that has been adapted from manual lymphatic drainage massage.

It can be used while pregnant (ideal for swollen legs) and as soon as four to six weeks postpartum and six weeks after a c-section depending on your own recovery experience.

The Body Balancer is also completely safe while breastfeeding.

What are the benefits post-pregnancy?

Used post pregnancy, the Body Ballancer® will:

• Help burn off the excess fat accumulated during pregnancy by boosting the supply of healthy, oxygenated blood to the tissues.
Put simply, it is easier to eliminate fat in parts of the body with a strong blood flow as this accelerates the transport of fatty acids via the bloodstream to be burned by the muscles as part of the normal metabolic process.
• Significantly reduce any excess fluid retained in the tissues.
The gentle wave-like action of the Body Ballancer® is clinically proven to reduce limb and body swelling by effectively moving the excess fluid into and through the lymphatic system, ready for elimination via the body’s normal waste removal process.
• Improve the appearance of cellulite. Pregnancy does not necessarily increase cellulite; rather the increase in weight experienced by many women will make it more pronounced.
Here, the Body Ballancer will not only improve the overall quality of skin tone and elasticity due to increased blood and oxygen circulation but freshen and brighten the skin by stimulating the lymphatic system, thereby removing any buildup of waste and toxins, the Renew Clinic explains.

Do please remember to always obtain your doctor’s approval before treatment, and discuss your individual birth experience with your Body Ballancer® nurse or therapist, including any complications that you may have experienced during your pregnancy. This information will help them create the optimal programme for your needs, to ensure you get the absolute best from this  treatment.

What is Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a safe, painless and well established treatment for thread veins on the legs, which can often be brought on by pregnancy.

A solution is injected into the vein through a tiny needle, causing the lining of the vein to breakdown.

This damage to the vein triggers a healing response which over several weeks causes the vein to close and fade away.

A consultation is necessary to determine your suitability for sclerotherapy and this treatment cannot be carried out while breastfeeding.

Coolsculpting

If doing crunches and going for runs isn’t banishing the post-pregnancy fat, a treatment such as CoolSculpting will.

The CoolSculpting® fat-reduction procedure is specially designed for those who have unwanted fat in targeted areas, such as stubborn areas on the abdomen post pregnancy.

Good candidates for the CoolSculpting® procedure have noticeable bulges in certain areas they’d like to get rid of, it is safe and effective after giving birth and won’t affect any future pregnancies in any way

A fully comprehensive consultation would be carried out to establish the suitability for CoolSculpting®.

“We work with you to create a personalised plan to achieve your desired results,” the Renew Clinic highted.

It is recommended to wait at least three months postpartum or a minimum of 6 months if you are hoping to treat near the site of a c-section scar.

CoolSculpting® cannot be carried out if you are breastfeeding.

Icoone

Icoone gently yet intensively conditions skin tissue to eliminate fat deposits and enhance blood and lymphatic flow.

It also stimulates collagen and elastin production to rapidly smooth and firm the skin, resulting in a dramatic improvement in the appearance of cellulite.

Cellulite is not brought on by pregnancy but the associated weight gain can often make cellulite appear worse.

If you have tried every kind of lotion and potion to tackle the issue but to no avail, you can book a consultation at Renew to discuss Icoone.

Treatment sessions last 30-40 minutes and are recommended two-three times per week over four-six weeks.

You will begin to see results after a couple of sessions and once you reach your treatment goal one session per month will maintain your results, the clinic explained.

Skincare

After the limitations placed on your skincare routine during pregnancy lots of new mums are eager to get back to using all the ingredients they were advised to avoid during pregnancy.

According to the Renew Clinic – it is important to remember that during pregnancy your skin may have undergone some significant changes and your pre-pregnancy skincare routine may need some adjustments to make sure it’s the right routine for you after you’ve had your baby and also while breastfeeding.

The clinic said that it would advise a free skin care consultation to assess your skin fully as your skin may have different needs after you’ve given birth.
