New Sustainable Irish Babywear

A new sustainable babywear online store called Lil & Izzy Boutique has been launched, which is music to the ears of any parent who supports an eco-friendlier lifestyle.

The practical yet stylish range, which is the brainchild of Katie Brandon Byrne, from Co. Wicklow, was launched during August with four core products, using premium organic cotton.

After spotting a gap in the Irish market, Katie went about developing her own range of ethically sourced organic babywear.

“After becoming a mother, I became much more eco-conscious,” Katie explained.

“I started to really think about my options before buying from a brand. My youngest daughter Isabelle has hyper-sensitive skin and allergies and I found the choice of sustainable and organic cotton baby products in Ireland very limited.”

Katie said that as she really couldn’t find what she wanted without shipping in from international brands “along with hefty price tags” so I went about designing my own.

“Several months later, Lil & Izzy Boutique was born!” She added.

Impact on our planet

Lil & Izzy Boutique products are all designed by Katie with careful consideration for parents and babies in mind.

The organic cotton fabric production used in the making of the baby clothes uses ‘less energy and healthy organic soils store more CO2’.

Katie said: “When we choose to buy organic natural fabrics over conventional fabrics, the impact is not just on our babies skin but on our planet too!”

To see the new range of products Lil & Izzy Boutique will showcase in The Motherhood pop-up in Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre from the 18th-22nd September from 10am-5pm.
