The Christmas period can be a stressful time, rushing to get through that very long list of presents to buy.
It is easy to let it all run away with you, so why not take a breath in order to see the magic that is Christmas.
How about bringing everyone together for a little Christmas party and maybe even starting a new tradition?
Make a gingerbread house
For the young children you can pre make the houses and have your kids decorate it.
All you need is royal icing to act as the glue, ground coconut for the snow, sweets like jelly tots, chocolate like smarties and anything else you might fancy on your house.
For the older children you can make it more interesting and get them to bake the gingerbread from scratch.
Lay out all the ingredients, let them make it and then give them all the decorating supplies for when they cool down.
You can even get them to make stained glass windows by crushing up coloured hard candy sweets and baking them in the oven.
You can either lay all the supplies out on the table or give each child a bag filled with sweets so there is no fighting!
You can even get each child their own gingerbread man apron as a party favor.
You can even make it a competition and get people to judge them!
Make Christmas Decorations
Buy art and craft supplies from a cheap store such as Dealz, the 2 Euro shop or Mr Price.
Get the kids to make wreaths or decorations for the tree or their room. They can even make presents to take home for their parents.
Hot Chocolate Party
Have a hot chocolate bar and let the kids choose their favourite toppings!
Set up marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles, crushed up candy canes, cookies and toffee syrup.
Make the hot chocolate from powder or go the death by chocolate route by melting chocolate!
This won’t be any ordinary pyjama party, it will be a Christmas themed pyjama party!
Send out Christmas invitations and decorate the room.
Serve hot chocolate, candy canes, gingerbread men and other holiday themes goodies! Watch Christmas movies with popcorn and curl up in front of the fire!
If that doesn’t work for you, have kids come in their best ugly Christmas jumpers and even hold a competition for best dressed!
If your kid loves Frozen, what better party to throw than a Frozen themed one!
You can buy decorations or get your kids to make them themselves.
You can get the kids to decorate white cups with faces like a snowman and then put them in a tower.
The children can take turns throwing a softball at the tower of cups and see how many they can knock over.
Play Christmas themed charades, pin the carrot on Olaf, wrap kids in wrapping paper and so much more.
Hopefully some of these ideas helped you out and you can throw a fun Christmas themed party for your kids!
