Having a teething baby can be a painful time for both baby and parent so we are here to help with a few great tips.
Put items in the freezer. Things such as teething rings, food purées, yogurts, popsicles and even fruits and veg in the freezer. Your baby can suck and chew on them while simultaneously soothing their gums. If you use a dummy you can put that in the freezer and if not try putting a spoon in the freezer and it will help as well.
Wait a little bit before giving it to your baby as it could do more harm then good when given straight from the freezer.
Clean your hands and massage the gums softly. The pressure from your fingers can help with the pain.
Do a combination of the above by freezing a clean wet face cloth. The texture and the coldness will help soothe the gums.
Buy gels that are suitable for young children for while they are teething. If you are ever unsure, contact your pediatrician.
Let your baby have some bath time. The warm water can distract them from the discomfort and help relax them. Put some bubbles in the bath, give them some toys and let them splash away.
