Easy Chocolate Chip Flapjacks

It might not be the healthiest recipe in the world but it sure makes delicious chocolate chip flapjacks!

Ingredients

  • 115 grams butter
  • 60 grams caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 350 grams rolled oats
  • 85 grams plain chocolate chips
  • 85 grams sultanas (optional)

We don’t add in the sultanas and for the chocolate about 60% dark chocolate is a great one to use.

**TOP TIP** add vanilla pods to your sugar and you wont have a need for vanilla essence and adds a great taste to your bakes!

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Put the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a bowl and cook over water on the hob. Stir constantly until all combined.
  3. Take the bowl off the heat and stir in the oats. Add in the chocolate and the sultanas. Mix well.
  4. Place in a tin or on a tray and place in the oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool slightly and cut into squares.

These are great with a cup of coffee or added to yogurt as a snack! These are so addictive and so yummy!
