For the third consecutive year in partnership with the Ian Dempsey Breakfast show on Today FM, Keelings gave away €10,000 to one school.
Keelings Berry Breakfast Time campaign prize of €10,000 was awarded to John Corcoran, a fifth class student at Bishop Foley’s Memorial school, Co Carlow.
“What a wonderful and unexpected bonus for all of us here in Bishop Foley National School,” said John’s teacher, Mr. Doran.
John’s entry was picked out of hundreds of entries received by Keelings and Today FM.
Very Important Job
John outlined how the school secretary Vera has the very important job of mending cuts and scratches obtained from running across the hard taramac and therefore the need for an astro pitch, to save knees and elbows, and Vera’s time.
“We hope to put the money to good use for the benefit of the boys in our school,” added Mr. Doran.
Last year winning school Crossneagh National School, Co Cavan spent the €10,000 prize on building a new yard for the pupils to play in and enjoy.
