30 activities you can do with your kids!


In this crazy time, we thought you might be running out of ways to keep your kids entertained! So we thought we would help and give you 30 ideas to keep everyone occupied over the next few weeks.

For a lot of these activities you will have the supplies lying around the house and you shouldn’t need to go anywhere!

  1. Make a fort – break out all the pillows and blankets and let your kids go wild.
  2. Build – use cards, cups or building blocks. If you have jenga lying around the house, you can use them as dominos or build something cool.
  3. Lego – get out all that lego you’ve been storing away.
  4. Go camping – no we aren’t suggesting you leave your house! Give your kids a camping experience by setting up shop in your living room. You could use a tent or tippee or just get everyone to sleep in the living room. Make smores and have fun.
  5. Make sock puppets– grab some socks from your drawer and get creating.
  6. Make a board game – if you want to keep the kids occupied for longer, let them create their own game and then play it.
  7. Write/draw – get them to make their own comic books or stories. Let them use their imagination!
  8. Obstacle course – head out to your back garden and and make a fun course to complete.
  9. Treasure hunt – make a treasure hunt for your kids and let them find the hidden messaged throughout the house.
  10. Read – set up a corner for your children to relax in. It can be fun doing all these activities but if you want your child to unwind, let them occupy themselves or read to them.
  11. Bake and decorate – bake something easy like cupcakes or cookies and then let your kids decorate them.
  12. De clutter – go through all the toys with your kids and get them to make a donate pile.
  13. Jigsaws – these are a great way to keep everyone occupied. You could download a template and create your own or put one you have already together.
  14. Play card games – because kids are competitive, card games are the absolute best. You don’t need any crazy cards, a normal deck will do the job.
  15. Life size games – make a life size chess board and chess pieces or snakes and ladders game.
  16. Paint – for younger kids you can use cardboard boxes and let them have fun in it with some paint.
  17. Paper art – make snowflakes, butterflies, fish or anything the kids imagine.
  18. Learn something new – now is a great time to potty train or teach your kids how to tie their laces
  19. Learn a hobby – find something you enjoy like knitting or dancing or sign language.
  20. Breakfast – make breakfast in bed and have a lazy morning.
  21. Picnic – you don’t need to go far. Pack up a picnic grab a picnic mat and head out to your back garden. You can always run back inside to grab whatever you forget!
  22. Experiment – do a few at home science experiments and have your kids learn.
  23. Pizza night – you don’t need much. You can either make some pizza bases from scratch or you can use wraps. All you need is some tomato paste/sauce, cheese and whatever toppings you want.
  24. Clothes art – grab any old white clothes you have in the closet and some permanent/clothes markers and let your kids design their own items.
  25. Make a road – use an old box or tape together some paper/card. You can draw you own road on the paper and then add building with blocks and then add some toy cars.
  26. Sticky notes – hang words with missing letters on the wall. Draw letters or shapes on some sticky notes and hide them in the house. The kids have to fill in the blanks.
  27. Escape room – make your own escape room for older kids. Make up some puzzles, add in any locks you have lying around and hide the key, hang some streamers to act like a light beam maze and have them escape!
  28. Bingo – make up a fun little bingo card or print one off and give your kids some sweets/candy. Use the sweets as the counters and then they can eat them in the end.
  29. Maze – use colour tape and stick it to the floor to create your own maze. Have them stay in the lines and make up your own rules.
  30. Redecorate – use a wall in your house and let you kids go crazy! Let them use paint, chalk, glitter or whatever else you have in the house! You can always paint over it, don’t worry!
