Children Recording Messages of Love

This Friday & Saturday children are invited to record their own message of love which will become one of 200 ‘love songs’ in a special installation later this spring.

This Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of February, children aged 6+ are invited to drop into The Ark on Eustace Street. Why you might ask? It is to record their own ‘Love Song’, a short musical message of love. It will be recorded onto a heart shaped device which will then be a part of the Love Song interactive installation. You will be able to see this beautiful musical exhibit on Saturday the 4th of April at The Printworks in Dublin Castle. Hundreds of these hearts will be hung to create an auditory encyclopaedia of love, as part of BIG BANG Dublin! Festival.

Love Song is a never-ending love story which has taken place in many locations all over the world. The installation is a project initiated by Belgian composer Serge Verstockt.

How to do it?

Recording your ‘love song’ is simple. Just squeeze the little heart-shaped recording device and speak, sing or make a sound into the microphone. Then hand it back to a member of The Ark team who can play it back for you to hear.

You might hum a tune, or say a few words about the thing you love most, maybe its just a name or sound. Whatever you love they want to hear about it.
