Georgia Tennant calls out Mark Zuckerberg for the policies that removed her breastfeeding photo from Facebook.
The photo was originally posted on Facebook to promote her new TV show called Staged. Georgia was breastfeeding her 8 month old daughter Birdie in the photo which was removed. Once she noticed it was gone, she re shared the image on Instagram with a very passionate caption and who can blame her!
Georgia rightly so slammed Facebook for their policies that resulted in the photo being removed, and her followers were on her side.
Facebook’s states on their website “We agree that breastfeeding is natural and beautiful and we’re glad to know that it’s important for mothers to share their experiences with others on Facebook. The vast majority of these photos are compliant with our policies.”. Their policy is that most breastfeeding photos are allowed however those that are cannot show any nipple.
Facebook were out of line to remove this photo, it is Georgia’s choice if she wants to share a breastfeeding image. It is only by sharing these images that the taboo of breastfeeding in public will end.
